TERMS & CONDITIONS: SEED FOR THE FUTURE EDUCATION GRANT

 

The following terms and conditions shall apply to the Seed for the future education grant ( the “Grant”) organised by or on behalf of Crown Flour Mill Limited (the “Organiser”) conducted through it application portal, social media platforms or website. These terms and conditions shall apply in addition and subject to any specific terms as stated at any website or social media platform for the Grant and in the event of any conflict the terms posted at the website or platform shall prevail:

1. Participation Modalities
a. The application for the education grant will run for 4 weeks commencing from [12:00am] on [26th July 2021] (the “Opening Date”) to [12:00am] on [20th September, 2021] (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.
All Grant applications must be received by the Organizer no later than [12:00am] on the Closing Date. All Grant applications received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

2. The Rules
A. All applicants must complete the application form and submit all supporting documents via the online portal.
B. All applicants will be informed of their result and shortlisted applicants will be informed about the next steps.
C. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for the final stage, this will involve an assessment, interview, and background checks
D. Successful applicants will be informed and awarded a one-time grant towards their academic pursuit.
E. These rules are also subject to the Terms and conditions stated below.

3. Eligibility
a. Grant (each a “Grant”) are open to all subject to the following:

1. Applicant must be a Nigerian citizen
2. Applicant must have completed Secondary School education and have achieved credit in at least 5 subjects including Math & English in one sitting
3. Applicant must have received and accepted admission for an undergraduate degree course in a public tertiary institution (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education) in Nigeria.
4. Applicant must submit all relevant documentation such as ID card, JAMB/NECO results and university offer/acceptance.
5. Applicants must provide the consent of their parent/legal guardian
6. Applicant must provide parents/ guardian’s occupational details
7. Applicant must complete the Seed for Future Foundation application form.

The following are exempt from participating:
i. employees of the Organizer;
ii. employees of agents or suppliers of the Organizer, who are professionally connected with the educational grant or its administration; or members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
iii. The employees, agents, members of the immediate families or households of the handlers of the social media accounts on which the Grant will be hosted
b. In applying for the Grant, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the grant. The Organizer may require you to provide additional proof that you are eligible to apply for the Grant.

d. Participants found cheating (for instance, creating fake identity to take part in the Grant) will be disqualified immediately.
e. No responsibility is accepted for any application entries that are incomplete, tagged incorrectly, unreadable, ineligible, corrupted, misdirected, lost or delayed or are unable to be sent/ published due to technical or transmissions failures of any kind or any other reason.

f. Participation in the application for the Educational Grant constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions of the Grant. Grants will be provided in accordance with and subject to these terms and conditions. Any application not compliant with these terms and conditions will be deemed invalid. The Organiser reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions of the Contest at any time without prior notice.

h. The Organizer will not accept:
i. responsibility for Grant applications that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal/uploading failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
ii. proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of application for the Grant.
i. By submitting a Grant application, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
j. There is a limit of one application per person. Application on behalf of another person will not be accepted unless by a parent or legal guardian and joint submissions are not allowed.

k. Entries will be judged by a panel of experts to be chosen by the Organizer.

4. The Grant
a. Successful applicants will be notified via the mode of entry submission unless otherwise stated and may be contacted by the Organiser to provide their additional personal details (name, email and contact number etc.) for the purposes of identity verification for grant collection.
b. Should the winner be un-reachable, the Organiser reserves the right to award the prize to a replacement winner, forfeit the prize or donate the grant to charity.

c. In the event of a dispute, the winner’s entitlement is subject to the sole discretion and final decision of the panel of experts. The panel’s decision is final and no appeals of this decision will be entertained.
d. The Organizer reserves the right to replace the Grant with items of similar value at their sole discretion. Grants must be taken by the participants as they are and are strictly not refundable or exchangeable for cash or extendable in validity.

e. It is a condition of entry that winners consent to the publication of their names, personal information and social media platform identifiers (in the format of username, profile picture and/or submitted photo) on the relevant social media platforms for publicity purposes.
f. Winners must also present relevant documents at the point of redemption for verification purposes.

5. Limitation of liability
a. The Organiser is not liable for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any participant as a result of applying for the Grant or accepting the grant or any injury or damage to the participant’s or any other person’s personal property including but not limited to a computer or mobile telephone relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading/uploading any materials in connection with the Grant.
b. Any costs or losses associated with applying for the Grant is the participant’s responsibility.

6. Ownership and intellectual property rights
a. Each participant warrants that its grant application is the personal document of the participant and, as such, the participant is the sole and exclusive owner and rights holder, and that the participant has the right to submit the documents to the Contest and grant all required licenses. Each participant agrees not to submit any entry that:
i. infringes any third party’s proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, industrial property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, privacy, publicity, or confidentiality obligations;

ii. otherwise violates any applicable laws and regulation.
b. All Grant applications and any accompanying material submitted to the Organizer will become the property of the Organizer on receipt and will not be returned.
c. By submitting entries and any accompanying materials for the Grant each participant agrees to assign to the Organizer all interests, title and intellectual property rights with full title guarantee in the Contest entry and any derivative therefrom, and irrevocably grants to the Organizer their consent to make the fullest use of the entries, and any extracts or derivative from the entries, in all media worldwide
d. Each participant agrees that the Organizer may, but is not required to, make the entry available on its website and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the Grant or the Organizer’s business. Each participant agrees to grant the Organizer a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable license, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the Grant application and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format, and sub- license the Contest entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes other purposes as the Organizer may require.
e. Each participant accepts and recognizes that the Organizer has the unlimited right to edit, copy, alter, add to, take from, adapt and translate the grant application and copy it into one or more foreign languages and irrevocably and unconditionally waives the benefit of their rights arising under any laws in favour of the Organizer and all its licensees, sub-licensees, assignees and successors in title.
f. All entries submitted must NOT contain material which is (or promotes activities which are) sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, violent (e.g., relating to murder, the sales or use of weapons, cruelty, abuse, etc.), discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, natural origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (e.g. underage drinking, substance abuse, computer hacking, etc.), offensive, threatening, profane, or harassing or which is otherwise inappropriate, in the sole discretion of the Organizer, nor may the name submitted contain any derogatory references to the Organizer or any other person or entity including brands or trademarks of the Organizer or any other person or entity.
g. The Organizer does not assume any liability for any unlawful or unlawfully produced content entry.
h. The Organizer reserves the right to remove, in its sole and absolute discretion, any submission deemed inappropriate or that is not in compliance with the terms and conditions of the Grant.

7. General
a. The Organizer reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Grant.
b. The Contest is in no way endorsed, sponsored or administered by or associated with any social media platform.

c. By participating in any such Grant, participants consent to the Organizer’s use of their personal information in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Grant and the Organizer’s privacy policy and data protection policy. and also agree to be governed by the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation.
d. Any provision in the terms and conditions which is held to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason by any court, governmental department, body or tribunal, or in any applicable jurisdiction shall be ineffective to the extent of such invalidity or unenforceability and will not invalidate or render unenforceable the remaining unaffected provisions hereof and should any provision be held invalid or unenforceable in an applicable jurisdiction such provision shall not be invalidated or rendered unenforceable in any other jurisdiction.

e. The Grant and its terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and any matter or dispute arising in connection therewith shall be resolved by mediation in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 2004
f. Participants hereby agree to perform its obligations under this terms and conditions and conduct the Contest in compliance with applicable anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws and regulations in Nigeria and shall not attempt to bribe any personnel of the Organizer or any other person involved in the Contest as an evaluator. Where any participant is found to breach these terms, it shall automatically be disqualified from the Contest.
g. The Organizer shall be entitled to transfer its obligations under this terms and conditions without the prior consent of the participants.
