Olam Agri’s Seeds for the Future foundation has expanded its initiatives for women empowerment

Olam Agri’s Seeds for the Future foundation has expanded its initiatives for women empowerment by launching a baking academy in Kano state.

The event was attended and inaugurated by special guests, His Royal Highness Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, The Emir of Kano, Dr Ibrahim Gaya, Special Adviser to the Governor of Kano State on Rural and Community Development, and members of the Olam Agri team. 

Speaking during the launch of the Academy, Ashish Pande, Country Head for Olam Agri in Nigeria, said, “Olam Agri is a strong player and contributor to the Nigerian economy. Investing in human capital development on a broader scale will stimulate national prosperity, and educating women is critical to enhancing families’ livelihoods.”

The Emir of Kano applauded Olam Agri for locating the baking Academy in Kano. He remarked, “By locating this Academy in our state, it will help build our community by giving our women the opportunity to learn the skills that will yield good incomes for their households when put to commercial use.”

The state governor’s representative, Dr Ibrahim Gaya, said, “Olam Agri’s investment in Kano attests to the peace, and impressive security levels state. The Governor and the traditional rulers have never relented in their efforts to ensure growth in Kano State. We, therefore, invite more businesses to emulate Olam Agri.”

The academy  offers a scaled support framework for women across regions, and the choice of Kano is strategic.We are set to do more as regards economic empowerment this year. Keep following us for more great updates like this.
